Mono-print Book

This printmaking book project was a process driven book. It explored concepts of self discovery, making meaning from abstract visual creations, and the concepts of having the full picture hidden, shaping what you perceive, before revealing more to get the full picture.

First, a wide variety of mono screen-prints were made using a variety of acrylic paints in gel medium. Next, each mono-print was assigned a word that seemed to reference the general colors and moods of the print. Then those words were pulled together to construct a simple poem. The key words were cut into white pages, with other connecting words penciled in precisely. The white pages with those words were paired with their prints, and then bound into a flexible, expandable book.
